Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Graduate Teacher to join our team at The Grange P-12 College. As a Graduate Teacher, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality education to our students and contributing to the growth and development of our school community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and implement a range of teaching programs or courses of study to achieve specific student outcomes.
  • Teach an area of the curriculum or a general curriculum to a year level, promoting student engagement and academic success.
  • Monitor, evaluate, and report student progress in key learning areas, using data to inform teaching practice and provide feedback to students and parents.
  • Implement strategies to achieve targets related to student learning outcomes, working collaboratively with colleagues to drive school improvement.
  • Maintain accurate records of class attendance and student progress, ensuring compliance with school policies and procedures.
  • Develop and implement effective student management strategies, promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Selection Criteria
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the relevant curriculum, including the capacity to incorporate the teaching of literacy and numeracy skills.
  • Demonstrated capacity to respond to student learning needs, using a range of teaching strategies to engage and support students.
  • Demonstrated capacity to implement high-impact teaching strategies, guided by how students learn, and evaluate the impact of learning and teaching programs on student learning growth.
  • Demonstrated capacity to monitor and assess student learning, using data to inform teaching practice and provide feedback to students and parents.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to establish and maintain collaborative relationships with students, parents, colleagues, and the broader school community.
  • Demonstrated behaviours and attitudes consistent with Department values, including a commitment to ongoing professional learning and development.
Requirements
  • Have completed their course requirements and graduated in the last 4 years.
  • Not be employed as a teacher by the Department at the time the advertised position is to commence.
  • Be currently registered or eligible for registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching.
