Job Description

Job Title: Graduate Classroom Teacher English

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Graduate Classroom Teacher English to join our team at Lakeview Senior College. As a Graduate Classroom Teacher English, you will be responsible for teaching English and Humanities to students in Years 10 to 12.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and implement a range of teaching programs or courses of study
  • Teach an area of the curriculum or a general curriculum to a year level
  • Monitor, evaluate and report student progress in key learning areas
  • Implement strategies to achieve targets related to student learning outcomes
  • Maintain records of class attendance and recording student progress
  • Implement effective student management consistent with the school charter
  • Work with a mentor to participate in professional development planning, implementation and reflection developing a professional portfolio

Requirements:

  • Have completed their course requirements and graduated in the last 4 years
  • Not be employed as a teacher by the Department at the time the advertised position is to commence
  • Be currently registered or eligible for registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching
