Job Summary:
The State Government Of Victoria, Australia is seeking a highly motivated and dedicated English Teacher to join our team as part of the 2025 Graduate Teacher Program. This is an exciting opportunity for a recent graduate to develop their teaching skills and contribute to the education of students in a culturally diverse and dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and implement a range of teaching programs or courses of study to achieve specific student outcomes.
- Teach an area of the curriculum or a general curriculum to a year level, promoting student learning and engagement.
- Monitor, evaluate, and report student progress in key learning areas, using data to inform teaching practice.
- Implement strategies to achieve targets related to student learning outcomes, working collaboratively with colleagues to support student success.
- Maintain records of class attendance and recording student progress, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
- Implement effective student management consistent with the school charter, promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Selection Criteria:
- Demonstrated knowledge of the relevant curriculum, including the capacity to incorporate the teaching of literacy and numeracy skills.
- Demonstrated capacity to respond to student learning needs, promoting student engagement and motivation.
- Demonstrated capacity to implement high-impact teaching strategies, guided by how students learn, and evaluate the impact of learning and teaching programs on student learning growth.
- Demonstrated capacity to monitor and assess student learning, using data to inform teaching practice.
- Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills, working collaboratively with students, parents, colleagues, and the broader school community.
- Demonstrated behaviours and attitudes consistent with Department values, promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Program Benefits:
- This position may attract an incentive payment of $5,650 (pre-tax) for the successful candidate starting in 2024 who meets the eligibility criteria set out under conditions of employment.
