About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Graduate English Teacher to join our team at Brinbeal Secondary College, a new and growing school in Melbourne's western suburbs.

As a Graduate English Teacher, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the educational experience of our students and contributing to the development of a positive and inclusive school culture.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and implement a range of teaching programs to engage and challenge students.
  • Teach English to a year level, developing and delivering curriculum content that meets the needs of all learners.
  • Monitor, evaluate, and report on student progress, using data to inform instruction and drive student outcomes.
  • Implement strategies to achieve targets related to student learning outcomes, working collaboratively with colleagues to drive school-wide initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate records of student attendance and progress, using data to inform instruction and drive student outcomes.
  • Implement effective student management practices, consistent with the school's charter and values.
  • Work with a mentor to develop professional development plans, focusing on areas of growth and improvement.
Requirements
  • Completed a Bachelor of Education or related degree within the last 4 years.
  • Currently registered or eligible for registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues to drive school-wide initiatives and achieve student outcomes.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional learning and development, with a focus on improving teaching practice and student outcomes.
