Scientist (Grade One) - Microbiology Specialist

Alfred Health's Microbiology Department is seeking a qualified Medical Laboratory Scientist to join their team on a temporary full-time basis.
Key Responsibilities- Perform microbiology testing according to documented laboratory protocols within acceptable time frames.
- Participate in all shift rosters, including evenings, weekends, and overnight.
- Perform routine laboratory tests without supervision (after a suitable training period).
- Participate in internal and external quality control programs.
- Collaborate with senior staff in method development.
- BSc or BApp Sc with a major in Microbiology.
- Experience in the performance of diagnostic Microbiology testing, including specimen set-up, culture reading, and interpretation.
- Good attention to detail.
- Good communication skills.
- Ability to function well in a team environment.
- Ability to organize own work to ensure time frames are met.
