Education Support Officer Role Overview

The UNSW Australia Education Support Officer position plays a pivotal role in the Faculty of Arts, Design & Architecture's Academic Quality team. This dynamic role is responsible for supporting the strategy, leadership, and governance of undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and learning.

About the Position

  • This position reports to the Academic Quality Manager and forms part of the Education Excellence portfolio, ensuring seamless collaboration with various stakeholders within the Faculty.
  • The successful candidate will be an integral part of supporting key projects that drive the implementation of the Faculty's educational strategy, focusing on areas such as Academic Program Reviews, academic governance, data analysis, and reporting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Apply, interpret, and advise on policies, systems, manuals, rules, procedures, and guidelines relevant to Teaching Support activities across the Faculty.
  • Oversight of timelines and processes related to publishing the UNSW Handbook, course offerings, and the Enterprise Course Outline System (ECOS), working closely with Deputy Heads of School / Directors of Learning and Teaching and Teaching Support Officers.
  • Support the delivery of Academic Program Reviews across the Faculty in collaboration with the Academic Quality Manager, Academic Quality Team, Associate Dean Education, and schools.
  • Maintenance and coordination of results processing, including late entry results, changes, disputed marks, and unresolved marks.
  • Compilation and presentation of data and reporting related to Academic Quality, providing valuable insights for decision-making.

Requirements

  • Australian citizenship or Australian working rights, with visa sponsorship not available for this appointment.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent knowledge gained through education, training, and/or experience.
  • Proven expertise in working with university systems, particularly in program and course curriculum management.
  • An ability to consistently demonstrate accuracy, precision, and attention to detail, producing high-quality work under minimal supervision.
  • Exceptional problem-solving, communication, analytical, and organisational skills, with a capacity to meet deadlines and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Proficiency in computing skills, including Power BI, word processing, spreadsheets, and databases, with a willingness to learn new systems.
