About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Staff Specialist in Psychiatry to join our team in New South Wales. As a key member of our Mental Health Service, you will be responsible for providing high-quality psychiatric care to patients in our Psychiatric Emergency Care Centre and associated emergency departments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide psychiatric assessment, treatment, and care planning for patients in both settings
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care
  • Develop and implement quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes
  • Participate in teaching and training programs for undergraduate and postgraduate students
  • Contribute to research efforts and quality improvement initiatives within the service
Requirements
  • Specialist registration or eligibility for specialist registration with AHPRA
  • Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (FRANZCP) or equivalent specialist recognition
  • Proven experience in providing high-quality psychiatric services and participating in quality improvement activities
  • Commitment to teaching and training, with experience in supervising psychiatry trainees
