About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Psychiatry Specialist to join our team at Skilled Medical. As a key member of our mental health services, you will provide timely and need-adapted care to individuals presenting for specialist care within an acute mental health inpatient setting and community mental health settings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality mental health services in a psychiatry setting, adhering to person-centered, recovery-oriented, family-inclusive, trauma-informed, and need-adapted principles of care.
  • Support and work collaboratively in interprofessional contexts, including with lived-experience professionals.
  • Develop and implement effective treatment plans, utilizing biological, psychological, social, cultural, and spiritual domains of psychiatry.
  • Contribute to medical leadership, supporting medical staff and the development of older persons mental health services.
  • Participate in key clinical decisions, contributing to team expertise across a range of therapeutic modalities.

Requirements

  • Possess or be eligible for registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (FRANZP) or equivalent, as provided for in the Health Services Act 1997.
  • Relevant certificate of Advanced Training.
  • Current NSW driver's license.
  • Demonstrated commitment to Continuing Professional Development and reflective practice.
