Job Description

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Clinical Educator with the suitable skills and competence to work as part of our Education Team. This role involves planning, developing, and coordinating the delivery of education courses/programs within the hospital. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring safe and effective clinical practice that follows best practice.

Key Responsibilities

  • Acting as a professional resource who plans, develops, and coordinates the delivery of education courses/programs within the hospital.
  • Ensuring safe and effective clinical practice that follows best practice.
  • Working in partnership with the nurse education team in the coordination and delivery of hospital-wide education programs.
  • Supervising staff compliance to annual mandatory training and completion of e-learning components.
  • Contributes to and participates in the education of all clinical staff by being involved in orientation, inservicing, clinical competence programs, and quality improvement practices.
  • Contributing to the development and updating of policies and procedures.
  • Supporting and supervising new graduate and undergraduate Registered nurses.

To be successful, you will have demonstrated clinical experience in a hospital setting with a passion for delivering patient care in line with our core values. Additionally, you will be a positive role model, who demonstrates highly developed communication skills and interpersonal skills with the ability to manage conflicting priorities.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Relevant registration with AHPRA
  • Minimum five (5) years' experience post-basic registration
  • Minimum five (5) years' experience in acute medical and surgical nursing
  • Ability to act as a positive role model with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment TAE40116 (or currently completing)
  • Previous experience in educational design, delivery, and evaluation
  • Proven teaching skills in individual, small, and large group settings/formal and informal settings
  • Ability to drive change
  • Postgraduate qualification in critical care nursing would be looked on favorably
  • Experience in surgical pediatric desirable but not essential
