Job Title: Business Development Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Business Development Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our sales team, you will be responsible for identifying and pursuing new business opportunities, building relationships with potential clients, and contributing to the growth and success of our organization.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute strategies to identify and target potential new customers through effective research and utilizing prospecting tools, industry websites, events, and other resources.
  • Respond and follow up on all leads with the goal of establishing CDA/MSA's and eventually turning leads into opportunities and customers.
  • Engage with potential new customers through cold calls, emails, and other cold outreach campaigns.
  • Rigorously document communications and keep up-to-date the customer relationship management (CRM) database.
  • Promptly initiate Client Proposals and Amendments upon request from BD and operational teams with a target 3-day TAT.
  • Refer to and update Salesforce CRM opportunities where applicable.
  • Identify and communicate new trends and technologies in the market that may impact sales strategies.
  • Assist Business Development Director in responding to customer needs as they arise.
  • Provide excellent customer service by following through with prompt solutions to all customer inquiries.
  • Be a proactive, contributing member of the Commercial and Business Development teams.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution required, post-graduate or MBA preferred.
  • Scientific background required with experience in bioanalysis (LC-MS/MS or immunoassay) strongly preferred.
  • A demonstrated track record of excellent communication skills in previous positions, both written and verbal.
  • Confident, friendly, proactive team player and relationship-builder.
  • Life science sales or marketing experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with a variety of sales concepts, practices, and procedures is an asset.
  • Desire and motivation to develop a strong understanding of the biotech and pharmaceutical sectors, and hunt for new opportunities.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
