Job Title: Group Building Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Group Building Engineer to join our team in managing the building services across various facilities. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing maintenance programs and projects, ensuring the up-to-date maintenance and integrity of the buildings.

This role involves controlling the day-to-day running of the building services section at each facility, supervising refurbishment works, and managing all building-related trades. The Group Building Engineer is also responsible for prompt actioning of works orders, ensuring full compliance, and work health safety of all facilities and building-related processes.

The level of responsibility and accountability for this position is proportional to the size, distribution, and complexity of the portfolio allocated. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with our skilled trades team across the region.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Manage trade staff across different facilities.
  • Oversee multiple projects with varying timelines in an operational facility.
  • Implement efficient reactive/corrective, preventative, and statutory maintenance programmes.
  • Supervise refurbishment works and oversee any works that may change or impact upon the fabric of the physical infrastructure of a facility or service.
  • Manage/control/supervise all building-related trades.

Requirements:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Building/Construction related industry or extensive building and construction industry experience with related trade qualifications/licence(s) and possession of a SafeWork approved White Card.
  • Demonstrated project management capability for building works and contract management.
  • Demonstrated experience in the management and operation of planned or corrective maintenance programming in large complex healthcare, institutional, or critical industrial environment.
  • Demonstrated experience in the maintenance and operation of hydraulic systems and compliance with regulatory requirements, safe work practices, standards, and codes of practice.
  • Australian C-Class driver's license (including P1 or P2).
