Reporting to the Engineering Manager for the site, this role is responsible for planning and directing in-plant engineering programs to ensure that the facility and equipment is maintained in a safe manner in order to meet daily production requirements.

**About the role**
- Assists the Engineering Manager in maintaining the facility and equipment in a safe and operational state of readiness at all times in order to meet daily production requirements.
- Supervises the established preventative maintenance program, including lubrication, inspections and engineering sanitation schedules to minimize production down time.
- Actively co-ordinates to complete the scheduled maintenance work orders.
- Leads and runs maintenance activities and scheduled work orders on Maintenance down days (Friday and Saturday).
- Assists Engineering Manager to generate all daily / weekly engineering reports.
- Maintains day to day activities to effectively run the plant.
- Assists Engineering, Production and QA team for any urgent after hour incidents / issues.
- Consults with Engineering Manager on long and short term improvement needs on an ongoing basis; focusing in Safety and Food Safety.
- Operates maintenance department and staff in conjunction with the Engineering Manager within all policy and budgetary guidelines.
- Assists in maintaining comprehensive and complete engineering records, including preventative maintenance schedules, machine history, purchase orders, equipment manuals and capital expenditure requests.
- Acts on behalf of Engineering Manager in their absence and supports them in planning, directing and coordinating the environmental health, food safety, quality and legal compliance as well as people safety programs and initiatives

**About you**
- Minimum educational attainment engineering trade qualification - dual trade
- electrical as first trade.
- Working towards or have obtained a Diploma /Tertiary qualification in the industry would be highly advantageous.
- Demonstrated experience leading a team of maintenance operators to achieve set maintenance targets in a manufacturing environment that includes fostering safety in your team as a priority.
- Possess the ability to work productively, efficiently & effectively with initiative and drive under tight timescales, multiple projects and pressure whilst maintaining attention to detail and quality.
- Possess the willingness to learn, improve and adapt.
- Hands-on experience and possess the willingness to work on tools if required.
- Strong leadership skills, independent thinking and planning abilities together with excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
- Must be able to work on Friday and Saturday on a regular basis.
