At NGH, were passionate about delivering meaningful cultural heritage outcomes while supporting our people to grow their skills and careers. Were seeking a motivated and dedicated Graduate Cultural Heritage Consultant to join our team. This role offers the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in Indigenous and non-Indigenous heritage projects, develop technical and research expertise, and work closely with communities, clients, and industry professionals.
Key Focus
As part of our team, you will assist with delivering projects within time and budgetary constraints while building your knowledge in:
- Legislation and policy relating to cultural heritage
- Research and technical reporting
- Fieldwork, data analysis, and community consultation
- Exposure to a diverse range of projects across Australia
Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
- Assist in managing projects in line with NGHs management systems
- Conduct research and contribute to cultural heritage assessments
- Support preparation of technical reports and management documents
- Participate in site inspections, surveys, salvage, and excavations
- Undertake Aboriginal community consultation activities
- Assist in the analysis and interpretation of cultural finds
- Work through your Graduate Learning Program Development Plan (GLDP) with your supervisor
- Apply newly learned skills in your daily work and share knowledge with your peers
- Uphold NGH values by following company policies, including WHS and QA procedures
About You
- Degree qualified (minimum Honours) in archaeology, cultural heritage management, anthropology, or a related field
- Passionate about Indigenous heritage (experience with non-Indigenous heritage is an advantage)
- An excellent communicator with strong interpersonal skills
- Willing to travel and work in the field
- Honest, authentic, and committed to continuous learning
- GIS skills are desirable but not essential
