About the Role

Mind Australia Limited is seeking a compassionate and resilient Mental Health Support Worker to join our team in Geelong. As a Mental Health Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing positive person-centred, recovery-oriented supports to clients to achieve their wellbeing goals, develop capacity and life skills, strengthen social connections, enhance support networks, and grow confidence to live independently.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality services and facilitate positive educational and social experiences for clients.
  • Support clients to return to their community, live independently, and enjoy a meaningful life through a staged approach to recovery.
  • Work as part of a multidisciplinary team offering specialized psychosocial support to clients.
  • Plan and deliver group programs that aid clients to build their skills and focus on recovery.
  • Collaborate with a range of services and the community to ensure a coordinated, integrated response to client's recovery goals.
Requirements
  • Tertiary qualifications (minimum Certificate III) in Mental Health, Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy, or other health-related field.
  • Expertise in working with people with mental health issues, complex needs, and interacting with families and carers.
  • Ability to provide information and mentoring to build capability, establish social relationships, create community networks, and access to relevant services.
  • Experience in facilitating group activities for clients experiencing mental ill health is desirable.
  • Understanding of the Community Services sector and ability to build strong relationships with service providers, clinical teams, and key stakeholders.
  • Strong administration and computer literacy skills.
