About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Support Worker to join our team at Sacred Heart Mission. As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting residents with complex needs to build life skills and foster community connections.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist residents to engage with current supports such as NDIS, Area mental health services, and Community health services.
  • Foster and develop positive relationships with internal stakeholders.
  • Assist in day-to-day operations of the program.
  • Ensure services are delivered to clients using social inclusion and trauma-informed principles.
Requirements
  • A strong commitment to helping individuals overcome social disadvantage, with a genuine desire to make a positive impact in their lives.
  • Diploma-level qualification in community welfare, psychology, or social work.
  • Be team-focused with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Skilled and experienced in engaging with clients from diverse backgrounds, with a sensitivity to cultural differences and the ability to handle challenging behaviors professionally.
  • Able to work a minimum of one sleepover shift per week.
What We Offer
  • $38.47 to $41.25 per hour depending on experience. Penalty rates apply for weekend and afternoon shifts.
