About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Operations Manager to join our Melbourne & Olympic Parks team. As a key member of our Australian Open planning and delivery team, you will be responsible for leading a team of professionals in the delivery of operational and technical expertise within the AO event environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build relationships and engage with internal and external stakeholders to ensure planning and delivery of the Australian Open and other events align with our objectives and strategy.
  • Drive innovation and improvements by planning and delivering operational projects, events, and activations that enhance our thriving precinct.
  • Plan for and schedule resources, manage event budgets, and provide financial acumen to support scoping and analysis of venue operations capital.
  • Ensure customer, tenant, and staff safety on the precinct by identifying and addressing safety concerns to minimize risk.
  • Unite teams by fostering a culture of high-performance and fun through collaborative and supportive leadership.

About You

  • You have an unwavering focus on the people experience and can balance competing demands in a fast-paced environment.
  • You build high-trust and effective working relationships with various stakeholders.
  • You have functional event planning and delivery experience within an arena/stadium, major event, mixed entertainment, or similar environment.
  • You're familiar with large and complex event productions and/or high-profile sporting events, with deep knowledge in areas such as staging, field of play, event security, event production, and guest services.
  • You're an experienced project manager with strong financial acumen and have experience managing conflict, risk, and safety operations.
  • You're an experienced and impactful leader who can drive innovation and improvements.
