Job Description

The Gatehouse Security Officer is responsible for carrying out gatehouse security duties at a client site in accordance with Certis Security Australia standard orders and site instructions. This role requires strict adherence to all relevant State and/or Federal legislation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure the secure management of vehicle movement, access control, and visitor passes.
  • Manage administrative tasks, including email checks and required reporting.
  • Verify that security access card holders have completed induction and possess an approved access level.
  • Identify and report security risks to the client contact and client services manager.
  • Issue security access cards, contractor, and visitor passes as necessary.
  • Monitor WHS, CCTV surveillance, and respond to site alarms in a timely manner.
  • Provide daily communications diaries, event logs, incident reports, breaches, foot patrol reports, readings, alarms, and checks.
  • Maintain perimeter security by preventing unauthorized access to the site and vulnerabilities to physical and electronic security integrity.
  • Respond promptly to alarms generated by access systems, fire systems, building management control systems, CCTV systems, and staff or contractor issues.
  • Conduct surveillance and monitoring of entry gates, screening areas, site buildings, and grounds via CCTV, access control systems, and visitor management processes.
  • Implement traffic control measures for pedestrian and vehicle gates, intercoms, and parking areas.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Hold a valid Security Licence of the State or Territory where you will work and a current Senior First Aid Certificate in line with Security legislation and associated Regulations.
  • Possess a Risk Assessment Qualification.
  • Have a minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role(s), preferably with prior experience in staff management and performance management.
  • Demonstrate proven ability in managing client relationships in a similar environment.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Demonstrate advanced computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office products.
