Job Description

As a Gatehouse Security Officer, you will be responsible for ensuring the security and integrity of our client site. You will carry out gatehouse duties in accordance with Certis Security Australia standard orders and site instructions, in compliance with all relevant State and/or Federal legislation.

Main Responsibilities
  • Access Control Management: Manage vehicle movement, access control, and visitor passes to ensure secure and controlled entry to the site.
  • Administration and Reporting: Check emails, manage administration tasks, and prepare required reports in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Security Clearance Verification: Confirm that individuals issued with security access cards have completed the necessary induction and possess the appropriate clearance level.
  • Security Risk Identification and Reporting: Identify potential security risks and report them to the client contact and site services manager.
  • Security Access Card Issuance: Issue permanent and temporary staff security access cards, contractor passes, and visitor permits.
  • Monitoring and Response: Monitor WHS, CCTV surveillance, and respond to various site alarms in a professional and timely manner.
  • Site Security and Communication: Provide daily communication diaries, event logs, incident reports, breaches, foot patrols, readings, alarms, and checks to maintain site security and integrity.
  • Perimeter Security: Ensure no unauthorized access to the site or vulnerabilities to physical and electronic security.
  • Alarm Response: Respond to alarms generated by access systems, fire systems, building management control systems, CCTV systems, and any issues raised by staff or contractors.
Qualifications and Experience
  • The applicable Security Licence of the State or Territory in which you work and a current Senior First Aid Certificate in accordance with the applicable Security legislation and associated Regulations.
  • A minimum of 2 years' demonstrated experience in a similar role(s), including prior experience in staff management & performance management and managing client relationships.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Advanced Computer Skills – literacy in all MS Office products.
  • Excellent communication skills – verbal & written.
  • Report writing and presentation skills.
