Correctional Officer Role

A Correctional Officer plays a vital role in ensuring the safe, humane and secure containment of prisoners/remandees and their rehabilitation.

  • This is an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the community by contributing to the rehabilitation and reintegration of prisoners.

The successful candidate will be part of a dynamic team that works together to achieve this goal.

Key Responsibilities

The key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Contribute to the safe, humane and secure containment of prisoners/remandees and their rehabilitation.
  • Work on a fully rotational roster, including day and night shifts, public holidays and weekends.

The ideal candidate will have strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment. The role requires resilience, maturity and flexibility, as well as high levels of literacy, numeracy and digital literacy.
