Financial Specialist - Defence Project Manager

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the delivery of complex defence projects that safeguard Australia's future. As a Financial Specialist, you will play a key role in managing financial operations, analysing reports, and liaising with stakeholders.

The successful candidate will have strong analytical skills, commercial acumen, and proficiency in financial management systems. You will be responsible for preparing and analysing financial reports, supporting invoice processing, asset reconciliations, and impairment reviews.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and reporting
  • Analyse financial reports, identify trends, and provide recommendations
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders on financial and commercial matters
  • Support invoice processing, asset reconciliations, and impairment reviews
  • Provide advice on compliance with financial legislation and Defence frameworks
Requirements
  • 5+ years' experience in project finance or Defence financial roles
  • Strong analytical skills and commercial acumen
  • Proficiency in financial management systems and MILIS
  • Understanding of Defence financial frameworks and reporting tools
  • Ideally relevant qualifications (AQF 6 or higher)

Due to the nature of the work, you are required to currently hold and maintain a minimum Negative Vetting 1 or higher Security clearance as required by the Commonwealth.
