Project Costing Specialist Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled Project Costing Specialist to contribute to the delivery of a high-profile Department of Defence program.

  • Cost Modelling & Estimation Expertise

    The successful candidate will develop and maintain detailed cost models and estimates for Defence capability projects, ensuring accuracy and compliance with industry standards.

  • Stakeholder Engagement and Collaboration

    Strong analytical and communication skills are essential for effective collaboration with technical and financial stakeholders, gathering inputs and validating assumptions.

  • Specialized Costing Tool Proficiency

    Proficiency in one or more Defence costing tools (Defence Capability Testing Tool (CCT), ACEIT, TruePlanning parametric costing tool) is required for success in this role.

  • Risk and Sensitivity Analysis Expertise

    Identification and assessment of cost drivers, along with financial risks and sensitivities, are critical components of this position.

  • Costing Documentation and Presentation

    The selected candidate will prepare clear, defensible costing documentation and present findings to senior stakeholders, utilizing strong analytical and communication skills.

  • Continuous Improvement and Knowledge Sharing

    Contributions to the refinement of costing frameworks and best practices will be expected, promoting continuous improvement and knowledge sharing within the team.

Requirements and Qualifications
  • Relevant Experience and Skills

    Demonstrated experience in cost estimation within Defence programs, combined with strong analytical and financial modelling skills, is essential for success in this role.

  • Security Clearance and Eligibility

    Australian Citizens with an active NV1 clearance are eligible to apply for this position.
