Project Costing Specialist Job Description

The Project Costing Specialist plays a critical role in supporting the delivery of high-profile Defence programs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coster and Financial Modeler: Develop detailed cost models and estimates for Defence capability projects by gathering inputs, validating assumptions, and applying costing methodologies using tools like CCT, ACEIT, or TruePlanning.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with technical and financial stakeholders to gather inputs and validate assumptions.
  • Tool-Based Analysis: Apply costing methodologies using tools like CCT, ACEIT, or TruePlanning to develop detailed cost models and estimates.
  • Risk & Sensitivity Analysis: Identify cost drivers and assess financial risks and sensitivities.
  • Reporting & Presentation: Prepare clear, defensible costing documentation and present findings to senior stakeholders.
Requirements:
  • Proficiency in Defence cost estimation, demonstrated through experience in similar roles.
  • Expertise in Defence costing tools (CCT, ACEIT, TruePlanning), as well as strong analytical and financial modelling skills.
  • Effective communication of complex costing concepts, ensuring that stakeholders understand project requirements.
  • Experience working in government environments is highly valued, but not essential.
Security Clearance:

Australian Citizens with an active NV1 clearance are required due to the nature of this role. This is a mid-senior level, full-time position within the Information Technology function.
