About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Senior WHS Advisor to join our team at Programmed. As a key member of our organization, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety of our construction sites and aligning our practices with government compliance standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement and Oversee Safety Management Systems: Provide practical support in establishing and managing safety systems across diverse work areas, including construction sites and major projects.
  • Compliance and Advisory Services: Advise managers and site supervisors on compliance with safety regulations, ensuring that our practices meet the highest standards.
  • Safety Audits and Investigations: Conduct thorough safety audits and investigations, contributing to performance monitoring and reporting.
  • Hazard Identification and Control: Proactively monitor workplaces for hazards, apply control measures, and stay up-to-date with WHS legislation and industry trends.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with operational teams to identify and address safety requirements, ensuring effective results and providing precise, prompt, and courteous customer service.
Requirements
  • Tertiary Qualification: A degree in Work Health and Safety, Environmental, or a related field.
  • Construction Induction Card: Must hold a valid construction induction card, also known as a white card.
  • Proven Experience: Proven experience in a safety leadership position within the construction sector, with a strong understanding of the NSW WHS Act and Heavy Vehicle National Law.
  • Safety Systems Management: Experience in establishing and managing safety systems within operational or trade environments.
  • Communication and Leadership: Proven communication skills for engaging with a diverse range of internal stakeholders, with the ability to handle staff-related issues with a high degree of confidentiality.
  • Flexibility: Willingness to work flexible hours as needed.
  • Cert IV WHS: Cert IV WHS is highly desirable.
