We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Support Worker to join our team at Hearth Support Services. As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting our participants in achieving their goals and living their best life.

The successful candidate will have experience supporting and/or caring for individuals with disabilities, and will possess excellent communication skills and a genuine interest in the wellbeing and inclusion of people with disabilities.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting participants with community access and recreational activities
  • Providing personal care, including showering, toileting, and personal hygiene assistance
  • Using manual handling and/or equipment to support mobility, such as wheelchairs or hoists
  • Transporting participants and supporting social engagement
  • Assisting with light domestic duties, such as meal preparation and cleaning

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Professional or lived experience supporting and/or caring for individuals with disabilities
  • Experience using a Hoist, PEG Feeding, or with Epilepsy Management
  • Experience supporting individuals with Mental Health and Complex Behaviours
  • Flexible availability and a long-term commitment to Hearth Support Services

Essential criteria:

  • An understanding of the disability/community services sector and person-centred support
  • Transferable life/work skills, along with a caring and compassionate approach
  • A valid driver's license and a reliable vehicle
  • NDIS Worker Screening Check
  • The legal right to work in Australia
  • Excellent communication skills
  • A genuine interest in the wellbeing and inclusion of people with disabilities
