Senior Legal Advisor

We are seeking an experienced legal professional to join our team in providing expert advice on complex legal matters related to the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission's (ACCC) functions and powers under the Competition and Consumer Act 2010. This includes advising on strategic and legal policy issues pertaining to merger clearances and competition exemptions.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough research into complex matters relevant to ACCC responsibilities, applying knowledge of relevant laws and regulations.
- Assist with investigations and court proceedings, working closely with external lawyers to ensure effective outcomes.
- Draft and settle complex court documents in support of investigations and litigation, demonstrating exceptional writing and communication skills.
Requirements
- Admission as a practitioner of the High Court or an Australian State or Territory Supreme Court is mandatory.
- Experience advising on Part IV of the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 or administrative law is highly desirable.
- The ability to work effectively under tight timeframes and deliver high-quality results is essential.
