About the Opportunity

Civeo is currently recruiting multiple qualified chefs to join our teams at our villages across the Bowen Basin, QLD. These positions offer a 14-7 roster and are full-time, permanent roles.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Prepare, cook, and present high-quality food and beverages in accordance with agreed menus and operating standards.
  2. Maintain safe and hygienic food preparation and storage areas, including proper storage of food, equipment, utensils, and implements.
  3. Perform daily temperature checks of fridges, freezers, storage areas, deliveries, and record results, taking appropriate action if any fall below standard.
  4. Develop excellent product knowledge and advise guests and staff accordingly.
  5. Work safely to company and statutory standards, including HACCP and ISO accreditations.
  6. Work harmoniously with the kitchen team and other village teams.
  7. Apply safe work practices to contribute to the safety culture at Civeo.

About You

  1. Certificate III in Commercial Cookery qualification (or equivalent) - International qualifications must be Australian recognized and translated.
  2. Demonstrated relevant work experience, preferably in the commercial hospitality industry.
  3. Experience in remote work, high-volume, and fast-paced kitchens.
  4. Competence in batch cooking across all service offerings.
  5. Strong communication, time management, and organizational skills.
  6. A great team player with the ability to adapt and work well under pressure.
  7. Flexibility to work across any shifts as required.
  8. A National Police Clearance or be willing to obtain one.
  9. Pass a pre-employment medical, including drug and alcohol testing.
  10. Valid Australian work rights.
  11. Current Driver's Licence (highly regarded).
