Operating Theatre Manager Role

The Operating Theatre Manager is a senior leadership position responsible for overseeing the delivery of high-quality patient care in an operating theatre environment.

  • Facilitate a culture of continuous improvement to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Maintain professional relationships with healthcare partners, utilising a customer-focused approach to achieve high-quality patient outcomes.
  • Provide strategic direction for the operating theatre unit, ensuring efficient management by coordinating evidence-based nursing care.
  • Be accountable for the effective daily management of resources, including human, financial, and material assets.
  • Coordinate and drive clinical audits and quality improvement initiatives to promote best practice.
  • Participate in direct patient care, as required.
  • Mentor staff to support their development and growth.
Selecting the Right Candidate
  • Hold current registration with AHPRA.
  • Possess a Working with Childrens check.
  • Demonstrate ANUM or clinical nurse specialist experience (desired).
  • Have experience in Scrub Scout/ Robotics specifically.
  • Show sound clinical knowledge.
  • Comply with ACQSHC National standards.
  • Demonstrate exemplary interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Exemplify positive role modelling behaviours.
  • Demonstrate excellent customer service focus, time management, and prioritisation skills.

This role requires strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate within a multi-disciplinary team. The successful candidate will possess a robust clinical background and be committed to delivering high-quality patient care.
