Payroll System and Compliance Specialist is a key role in the successful implementation of new HRIS and workforce management systems. The position plays a crucial part in contributing to payroll system and process improvements, ensuring legislative compliance and supporting the delivery of payroll-related projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as a payroll subject matter expert in the implementation of SuccessFactors HRIS, working with the project team to ensure integration with SAP Payroll.
- Lead user acceptance testing, data migration and user training for the HRIS implementation.
- Participate in system design, configuration and testing to ensure payroll compliance and accuracy for the implementation of the time and attendance system.
- Recommend enhancements to workflows and automation to improve efficiency and reduce manual intervention.
- Collaborate with project teams to ensure new processes and systems embed compliance.
- Provide payroll subject matter expertise to complex compliance and process improvement projects.
- Support the development of improved governance, controls, and reporting frameworks.
- Work with stakeholders to identify and resolve system or process gaps impacting payroll.
- Assist in data validation, reporting, and reconciliation tasks to support ongoing payroll accuracy.
Requirements
- 5–7 years of relevant experience in Payroll, HR, or Industrial Relations.
- End-to-end payroll processing expertise, recent involvement in payroll system implementation or integration projects, and a strong understanding of Australian industrial relations, including modern awards, enterprise agreements, taxation, and superannuation legislation.
- A Diploma in Payroll, HR, or Law is preferred, though equivalent industry experience is acceptable.
- Proficiency in SAP and SuccessFactors is highly regarded, along with demonstrated capabilities in user acceptance testing (UAT), data migration validation, and payroll reporting.
