
Payroll Specialist Role

We are seeking a skilled professional to fill the role of Payroll Specialist in our organisation. This is an exciting opportunity to utilize your knowledge and experience in payroll processing and implementation, working closely with our project teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as a subject matter expert in the implementation of HRIS systems, ensuring compliance and accuracy in payroll processing.
- Lead user acceptance testing, data migration and user training for the HRIS system.
- Participate in system design, configuration and testing to ensure payroll compliance and accuracy for time and attendance systems.
- Recommend workflow enhancements and automation to improve efficiency and reduce manual intervention.
- Collaborate with project teams to embed compliance in new processes and systems.
Payroll Compliance Expertise
- Provide payroll expertise to complex compliance and process improvement projects.
- Support the development of governance, controls, and reporting frameworks.
- Identify and resolve system or process gaps impacting payroll compliance with stakeholders.
Ongoing Payroll Support
- Assist in data validation, reporting, and reconciliation tasks to support ongoing payroll accuracy.
- Contribute to BAU payroll processing, ensuring accuracy, timeliness and compliance with legislation, awards, policies.
Requirements
- 5-7 years of relevant experience in payroll, human resources or industrial relations.
- End-to-end payroll processing expertise, recent involvement in payroll system implementation or integration projects, and strong understanding of Australian industrial relations, including modern awards, enterprise agreements, taxation, and superannuation legislation.
- A Diploma in payroll, human resources or law is preferred, though equivalent industry experience is acceptable.
- Proficiency in SAP and SuccessFactors is highly regarded, with demonstrated capabilities in UAT, data migration validation, and payroll reporting.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, a continuous improvement mindset, and the ability to manage competing priorities in a project environment.
