Insurance Claim Officer Role

The Insurance Claim Officer position plays a vital role in managing insurance claims and delivering exceptional customer service to our members and beneficiaries.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality customer service on inbound and outbound calls, ensuring effective communication throughout the lifecycle of each claim.
  • Manage Death/Terminal Illness (DTI), Total and Permanent Disability (TPD), Income Protection (IP), and Permanent Incapacity (PI) claims, ensuring accurate management and compliance with regulations.
  • Proactively follow up on receipt of claim documents with members and beneficiaries, aiding in the completion of their forms and providing regular updates on the process of their claim.
  • Lodgment and triaging of claims, including family law enquiries, splits, and financial hardship applications.
  • Report and manage dissatisfaction feedback and service complaints, ensuring our integrity is maintained and risk exposure minimized.
  • Operating hours will be 8 am to 5 pm with rotating shifts.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience as a Claim Officer or similar role.
  • Superannuation or industry experience in a similar field.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Process-oriented with great attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to work on tasks independently, whilst contributing to team goals.
  • Confidence in engaging with members and external stakeholders, maintaining a pleasant phone manner and a great attitude.
  • Proven experience working to service standard deadlines.
  • Advanced skills in Word, Outlook, and Excel.
  • RG 146 compliant or commitment to undertake study (mandatory).
