Youth Care Specialist

Selectability seeks a dedicated and passionate Youth Worker to contribute to our team, providing essential support to children and young people with diverse needs.
As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in promoting the well-being, stability, and recovery of our young people, fostering a supportive environment that encourages growth and development.
- Key Responsibilities:
- Support the daily needs of children and young people in a residential setting
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with residents, prioritizing their emotional and psychological well-being
- Collaborate with colleagues to create a safe and inclusive environment
- Participate in regular training and professional development opportunities
To succeed in this role, you will require:
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Flexibility to adapt to changing circumstances and priorities
- Commitment to promoting a culture of respect, inclusivity, and diversity
To be considered for this position, you will need:
- A minimum of Cert IV qualification recognized under the child safety minimum qualification standards (or willingness to actively study)
- Current certification in Hope and Healing for residential care (ability to obtain)
- A current minimum P1 "C" class Queensland driver's license
- A registered, roadworthy, and fully comprehensive insured vehicle
- First Aid and CPR certificates (ability to obtain)
- A Positive Notice Working with Children (blue card) (ability to obtain)
- NDIS Worker Screening Clearance (ability to obtain)
- NDIS Worker Orientation Module 'Quality, Safety & You'
