Support Worker for Children and Families

Foster a positive impact in the lives of children and families as a Support Worker with Churches of Christ, Children Youth & Families. Based in Townsville QLD, this permanent full-time opportunity offers a rewarding career path with a not-for-profit organisation that has been serving communities for over 90 years.
About the RoleAs a Support Worker, you will work closely with our team to provide support services to children, young people, and their families. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Recruiting, training, and assessing carers to ensure they are equipped to provide quality care and support.
- Negotiating family support plans and coordinating placements to meet the unique needs of each family.
- Providing assessment, crisis intervention, and short-term intervention skills to support children and families in times of need.
To succeed in this role, you will possess:
- A degree qualification in social work, psychology, or a related discipline.
- Minimum two years' experience in providing care services to children and families in statutory care.
- Demonstrated experience in providing training to carers and applying assessment, crisis intervention, and short-term intervention skills.
