
Expert Claims Manager

We are seeking a senior claims professional to manage high-value and complex specialty claims. This role is pivotal in ensuring claims are resolved efficiently and fairly, while supporting the technical development of the broader team.
Key Responsibilities- Manage end-to-end claims across class actions, cluster claims, and high-value exposures
- Provide strategic advice on policy interpretation, litigation, and claim resolution
- Collaborate with internal legal teams, panel firms, and counsel to manage legal complexities
- Attend mediations, settlement conferences, and court proceedings as required
- Support technical oversight and mentoring within the specialty claims team
- Develop governance frameworks and reporting for emerging risks and financial impacts
- Promote alignment of claims strategies across internal stakeholders
- Contribute to process improvements and cost reduction initiatives
- Tertiary qualifications in law, business, or insurance (mandatory)
- Industry qualifications such as Diploma in Financial Services (mandatory)
- 5–10 years' experience managing complex liability or professional indemnity claims
- Litigation experience, including briefing panel firms or direct involvement (mandatory)
- Strong analytical, negotiation, and decision-making skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement capabilities
- Experience mentoring and developing team members
- Sound knowledge of relevant legislation and claims systems
