Job Title: Neurologist Staff Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Neurologist to join our team at Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District. As a Neurologist Staff Specialist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality clinical care to patients with neurological conditions, including stroke.

About the Role

This is a permanent position, and you will be working in a dynamic and supportive environment. You will be part of a multidisciplinary team, working closely with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care to patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical care to patients with neurological conditions, including stroke
  • Participate in teaching and clinical governance activities
  • Support the development of Neurology services, facilitating a culture of learning and best practice
  • Work effectively and harmoniously with medical and other health services colleagues as part of a multi-disciplinary healthcare team
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • Specialist registration or eligible for specialist registration as a Medical Practitioner with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
  • Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) in Neurology and/or equivalent and specialist recognition and further training qualifications in Stroke including research
  • Evidence of continuing medical education and self-monitoring/audit practices consistent with the scope of practice requirements of the position
  • Proven capacity and/or experience in the provision of effective high-quality services, demonstrated through successful clinical practice in an environment appropriate to the requirements of the position
