Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Neurologist to join our team as a Staff Specialist. The successful candidate will provide clinical care to Neurology patients, including Stroke patients, and participate in all Neurology Department activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical care to Neurology patients, including Stroke patients, with clinical responsibility including call and outpatient care.
  • Participate in all Neurology Department activities, including General Neurology, acute and subacute Stroke on-call rosters, and clinical consultation service onsite and remotely across the district.
  • Support the development of Neurology services, facilitating a culture of learning and best practice, participating in teaching and clinical governance activity, and supporting other service development and research objectives.
Requirements
  • Specialist registration or eligible for specialist registration as a Medical Practitioner with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) in Neurology and/or equivalent and specialist recognition and further training qualifications in Stroke including research.
  • Evidence of continuing medical education and self-monitoring/audit practices consistent with the scope of practice requirements of the position.
  • Proven capacity and/or experience in the provision of effective high-quality services, demonstrated through successful clinical practice in an environment appropriate to the requirements of the position, including evidence of participation in quality improvement activities relevant to the specialty.
