Job Title: Neurologist/Stroke Lead

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Neurologist to lead our Stroke Service in the Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District (ISLHD).

About the Role

The successful applicant will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and implementing Stroke services across the ISLHD. This will include leading a team of healthcare professionals, developing and implementing policies and procedures, and ensuring high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the planning, coordination, and implementation of Stroke services across the ISLHD
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure high-quality patient care
  • Lead a team of healthcare professionals to deliver Stroke services
  • Participate in the on-call roster, inpatient, and outpatient clinical care in both Stroke and General Neurology
  • Develop and maintain relationships with other healthcare services and stakeholders
Requirements
  • Specialist registration or eligible for specialist registration as a Medical Practitioner with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
  • Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) in Neurology and/or equivalent and specialist recognition and further training/qualifications in Stroke
  • Proven capacity and/or experience in the provision of effective high-quality Stroke and Neurology services
  • Demonstrated commitment to teaching and education
  • Ability to work effectively and harmoniously with medical and other health service colleagues
