About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Laboratory Officer to join our team at Rio Tinto's Gove site in Australia's Northern Territory. As a Laboratory Officer, you will be responsible for collecting and preparing bauxite samples for analysis using a variety of equipment and instrumentation.
Key Responsibilities
- Collecting and preparing bauxite samples for analysis using equipment such as Rotary Sample Dividers, Jaw Crushers, Continuous Ring Mills, Thermogravimetric Analysers, X-ray Fluorescent Spectrophotometer, Carbon Analyser, and Automated Fusion Equipment.
- Reporting accurate results in a timely manner to internal customers.
- Maintaining equipment to ensure optimum performance and minimum downtime.
- Troubleshooting instrumentation.
Requirements
- A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team.
- Certificate IV in Laboratory Techniques, preferably with experience in a laboratory.
- A manual C class drivers licence.
- Experience with MS Office – Access, Word and Excel (including Macros) and CCLAS database.
