Estimating Role

We are seeking a skilled Construction Estimator to join our team. The role will focus on preparing accurate cost estimates and take-offs across a range of building works, with a strong emphasis on wall and ceiling linings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and interpret building plans, specifications to prepare accurate take-offs for various building elements, focusing on wall and ceiling systems.
  • Estimate costs of materials, labour and subcontracted works across different construction methods, ensuring competitiveness and profitability.
  • Liaise with suppliers, subcontractors, and internal teams to confirm pricing, technical details, and lead times.
  • Prepare and present estimates, budgets, and tender submissions to support project decision-making.
  • Estimate costs of on-site changes, taking into account the stage of the build.
  • Monitor project budgets, track recurring over-runs, and adjust base model estimates.
  • Maintain and update cost databases and contribute to the development of estimating systems and procedures.

  • Knowledge of WA residential building and construction process, including understanding Acoustic & Engineering reports.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and staying updated with industry trends and changes to standards.
Qualifications & Experience

  • Diploma in Building and Construction or equivalent qualification.
  • Proven experience in a similar estimating/scheduling residential construction role.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel), Simpro, Bluebeam, D365 (desired but not essential).
