Ralmax Group of Companies is seeking a dedicated and motivated individual for the role of Labourer at our steel fabrication facility in Victoria, British Columbia. The successful candidate will engage in various unskilled and semi-skilled tasks within the steel fabrication sector, receiving comprehensive on-the-job training to enhance their skills over time. Key Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct routine maintenance on machinery and equipment.
  2. Manage and replenish coolant levels in machine reservoirs.
  3. Ensure cleanliness and organization of work areas.
  4. Transport parts and materials to designated locations as needed.
  5. Assist in various tasks as assigned by management.
  6. Comply with safety protocols and regulations at all times.
  7. Set up temporary equipment and containment structures.
  8. Utilize hand and power tools, demonstrating a willingness to learn new machinery.
  9. Operate overhead cranes and forklifts safely.
  10. Perform cleaning and fueling of service vehicles.
  11. Support tradespeople in their tasks when necessary.
  12. Prepare steel components for shipment by applying primer paint.
  13. Empty scrap bins and waste containers regularly.
  14. Engage in physically demanding work in varying weather conditions.
  15. Follow both verbal and written instructions accurately.
  16. Learn and adhere to established safety guidelines.

Qualifications:

  1. Possession of a valid class 5 BC driver's license.
  2. Ability to pass screening and security checks.
  3. Eligibility to work in Canada.
  4. Understanding of Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) and Workers' Compensation Board (WCB) regulations.

Working Conditions:

  1. Physical capability to lift up to 80 lbs.
  2. Potential travel to off-site locations.
  3. Mandatory use of safety equipment, including steel-toed boots and safety glasses.
  4. Overtime may be required based on operational needs.
  5. Exposure to trade-related hazards.
  6. Work performed both indoors and outdoors.
