Ralmax Group of Companies is seeking a dedicated and motivated individual for the position of Labourer at our steel fabrication facility in Victoria, British Columbia. The successful candidate will engage in both unskilled and semi-skilled tasks within the steel fabrication sector, receiving on-the-job training and gradually requiring less supervision.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct general maintenance on machinery and equipment.
  2. Monitor and replenish coolant levels in machine reservoirs.
  3. Maintain cleanliness in work areas.
  4. Transport parts and materials to designated work locations as needed.
  5. Execute additional tasks as assigned by management.
  6. Comply with safety protocols and regulations.
  7. Assist in assembling temporary equipment and containment structures.
  8. Operate hand and power tools, with a willingness to learn various equipment.
  9. Operate overhead cranes and forklifts safely.
  10. Perform cleaning and fueling of service vehicles.
  11. Support tradespeople with their tasks when necessary.
  12. Prepare steel components for shipment by priming paint.
  13. Empty scrap bins and waste containers.
  14. Engage in moderately heavy physical labor in various weather conditions.
  15. Follow both oral and written instructions and maintain accurate records.
  16. Learn and adhere to safety guidelines.

Qualifications:

  1. Possession of a valid class 5 BC driver's license.
  2. Ability to pass screening and security checks.
  3. Eligibility to work in Canada.
  4. Understanding of Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) and Workers' Compensation Board (WCB) regulations.

Skills and Attributes:

  1. Ability to collaborate effectively with others and work independently.
  2. Maintain a reliable and positive attitude within a team setting.
  3. Willingness to learn about various types of machinery and equipment.
  4. Strong work ethic and commitment to personal development.

Working Conditions:

  1. Physical capability to lift up to 80 lbs.
  2. Potential travel to off-site locations.
  3. Required safety equipment includes steel-toed boots and safety glasses.
  4. Overtime may be necessary.
  5. Exposure to trade-related hazards.
  6. Work conducted both indoors and outdoors.
