EOI - Academic Sessional, School of Law & Business: Teaching Opportunities

The School of Law & Business at The University of Notre Dame Australia is seeking expressions of interest from experienced academics to teach on a sessional basis across various programs. As a sessional academic, you will be an integral part of the teaching team, contributing to the delivery of high-quality education to our students.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct tutorials, lectures, and workshops to the standard of the School, preparing lesson plans and facilitating informed group discussions to enhance student engagement.
- Translate real-world professional experience into student learning and teaching, providing students with practical and relevant knowledge.
- Consult with students on readings, weekly topics, and upcoming assessments, ensuring students receive timely and effective support.
- Assist with assessment administration, including marking, entering results, and providing feedback to students as required.
- Attend meetings as required by the Course Coordinator, contributing to the development and implementation of teaching programs.
- Identify students at risk, providing support and guidance to ensure their academic success.
- Support the Objects of Notre Dame as a Catholic University, upholding the values of academic excellence and community engagement.
- Hold a PhD or DBA qualification or equivalent in a relevant discipline, with industry or professional experience highly regarded.
- Prior teaching experience at the tertiary level, with a sound understanding of pedagogical and adult learning principles, is essential.
- Experience translating industry practice into teaching Masters courses in the relevant discipline would be highly valued.
- Demonstrate the ability to deal effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds, including supporting international students.
- Ability to deliver quality learning and teaching practices in multiple modes, including online delivery.
- Demonstrated ability in developing resources, curriculum documents, and criteria and standards-based assessment tasks.
- Ability to incorporate technology into teaching and learning, including Blackboard, Zoom, email, and the internet.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to foster high levels of collegiality and empathy with students.
- Proven ability to assess priority tasks, manage workload, and meet deadlines in a busy environment.
