We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Academic Sessional to join our team at the School of Nursing and Midwifery. As an Academic Sessional, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality teaching and learning experiences to our students.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and deliver lectures, theoretical tutorials, and simulation laboratories to the highest standards of the Faculty.
- Consult with students to ensure they are meeting the learning objectives and provide feedback on their progress.
- Mark and provide feedback on assessment activities as set out by the Course Coordinator/Program Coordinator.
- Attend meetings as required by the Course Coordinator/Program Coordinator.
- Manage short-term extension requests in line with University policy.
- Identify students at risk by thorough tutorial attendance recording.
- Perform other duties as identified by the line manager or the National Deputy Head of School.
- Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent qualification.
- Registered Nurse (Div. 1) in Australia.
- Postgraduate qualifications in Nursing or education are desirable.
- Knowledge and understanding of current scholarship and/or professional practice in the relevant discipline.
- Demonstrated ability to deal effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
- Knowledge of, and experience in adhering to workplace policies and procedures in the areas of work health safety, equity, diversity, and promoting a respectful workplace culture.
- Ability to deliver quality learning and teaching practices in multiple modes, including online delivery.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to foster high levels of collegiality and empathize with students.
- Proven ability to assess priority of tasks, manage workload, and meet deadlines in a busy education environment.
