Business Development Manager

Job Summary:

We are seeking a proactive and results-driven Business Development Manager to maintain and grow commercial procurement relationships, identify new opportunities, and expand our customer network.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Identify and cultivate new business opportunities in key sectors, including mining and quarrying.
  2. Build and maintain professional relationships with procurement, engineering, and maintenance teams.
  3. Lead the consultative sales process, prepare quotations, and contribute to tenders.
  4. Engage in industry events and networking opportunities.
  5. Collaborate with internal teams to provide tailored solutions.
  6. Travel extensively to maintain and develop client relationships.

Requirements:

Technical Capabilities & Experience:

  1. Minimum 12 months of experience in business development with a proven sales track record.
  2. Tertiary qualification in Mechanical Engineering or relevant commercial experience in the sector.
  3. Strong communication skills – written, spoken, and presentation.
  4. Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
  5. Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  6. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  7. Experience with ERP management information systems is advantageous.
  8. Existing contacts within Engineering, procurement and construction (EPC).
  9. Full Australian work rights and a valid passport are required.
  10. A police check is mandatory for this position.
  11. Interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships with stakeholders are essential.
  12. A collaborative approach to teamwork and problem-solving is necessary.
  13. A proactive attitude towards customer satisfaction and meeting quality standards is crucial.
  14. Ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently and deliver results systematically is vital.
  15. Motivation to exceed sales targets and KPIs is key.
