Purchasing Specialist Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Purchasing Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a technical engineering background, excellent negotiation skills, and excellent communication abilities.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Sourcing and buying the right products as required by the company
  • Continuously monitoring market demand and supply for the required products
  • Negotiating with suppliers to get the best product at the best price
  • Submitting reports to management where necessary
  • Analyzing each buying opportunity available for a particular situation
  • Liaising with other departments and sourcing suppliers based on their technical requirements
  • Obtaining sample products for quality testing
  • Supporting the maintenance of our buying database
  • Monitoring supplier performance and quality and altering sourcing strategy to deliver on-time quality products

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Technical engineering understanding
  • Excellent negotiation skills
  • Excellent communication (both written and verbal)
  • Formal qualifications and minimum 2 years experience in Supply Chain, Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, or related field
