Role Description

This role is for a Clinical Nurse Specialist in the Far West Local Health District. The successful candidate will be responsible for working with the Nursing and Midwifery Education team to deliver key education initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Develop and implement clinical education programs to support ongoing professional development of nursing and midwifery staff.
  2. Partner with the Nursing and Midwifery Education team to deliver on key strategic education initiatives.
  3. Based in Broken Hill, work across multiple facilities within the district, with travel to locations such as Balranald, Buronga, Ivanhoe, Menindee, Tibooburra, Wentworth, White Cliffs, and Wilcannia.
Requirements:
  • Current Authority to practice as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • Current Certificate as a Workplace Trainer and Assessor (currently Certificate IV) or willingness to work towards and attain certification within 12 months of commencement of position.
  • Currently FLECC credentialed or willingness to work towards and attain certification within 24 months of commencement of position.
  • Demonstrated three years' experience providing clinical teaching and education to clinicians using adult learning principles and facilitation skills.
  • Credentialed in Triage and as an Advanced Life Support Instructor, or willingness to obtain within 12 months of commencement of position.
