Therapeutic Support Professional

This is a part-time, fixed-term position available for a period of approximately six months. The successful applicant will be required to work 0.7 full-time equivalent.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide short to medium term in-person or telehealth therapeutic counseling to individuals affected by sexual assault.
- Participate in the intake system as required, including face-to-face, telehealth and telephone crisis counseling.
- Demonstrate advanced, client-centered clinical practice which draws on a range of therapeutic interventions and modality options for clients.
- Provide information, support and psychological education to clients, non-offending family members and other professionals and agencies.
To be successful in this role you'll need to possess:
- A tertiary qualification in Social Work and eligibility for membership of a relevant professional association or registration as a Psychologist with a national registering authority.
- A minimum of four years experience in therapeutic counseling, preferably working with trauma.
- An understanding of the impacts of sexual assault and the long-term consequences of trauma.
- Familiarity with current family violence frameworks and risk assessment.
