Our goal is to empower individuals who have experienced sexual assault by providing them with the necessary support and resources to live healthy and fulfilling lives.
The Northern Centre Against Sexual Assault (NCASA) provides a range of therapeutic services to adults and young people aged 12 years and above, who have been affected by sexual assault. These services are designed to meet the unique needs of each individual, promoting healing and recovery.
As a Counsellor Advocate, you will play a vital role in delivering short to medium-term in-person or telehealth therapeutic counselling to those affected by sexual assault. This will involve participating in the NCASA intake system, demonstrating advanced clinical practice, and providing information, support and psychological education to clients and other professionals.
To be successful in this role, you will need an approved tertiary qualification in Social Work and eligibility for membership of the AASW or full registration as a Psychologist with AHPRA. You will also require a minimum of 4 years' experience in therapeutic counselling, preferably working with trauma, and familiarity with current family violence frameworks and risk assessment.
