This role offers an opportunity to work therapeutically with staff in a youth justice custodial setting, providing autonomous and flexible work arrangements. The Staff Clinical Practitioner plays a critical role in supporting staff to maintain their own well-being by providing counselling, psychological first aid, critical incident stress debriefing, and innovative wellbeing strategies.
- Delivers evidence-based clinical assessments and interventions for staff.
- Provides psychological support, counselling, and crisis intervention, offering clinical guidance to other staff.
- Works as part of a multidisciplinary care team including case managers, youth justice workers, and behaviour support specialists.
This position works with staff only, which means you will be focused on developing strategies to assist and manage the personal impact of work-related stress, vicarious trauma, anxiety, depression, and workplace conflict. You will also deliver group training and coaching to improve the psychological wellbeing of staff.
A key requirement for this role is the ability to display a commitment to maintaining contemporary knowledge of therapeutic skills and frameworks. Experience working in public service or community health is desired but not essential.
You will need to hold a full driver's licence due to the need to be able to work flexibly across both custodial precincts. Additionally, you will require a current employee Working with Children Check (WWCC) card.
Requirements:- Individual counselling and critical incident stress management using evidence-based clinical frameworks.
- Developing strategies to assist and manage the personal impact of work-related stress, vicarious trauma, anxiety, depression, and workplace conflict.
- Delivering group training and coaching to improve the psychological wellbeing of staff.
