Family Preservation Specialist Role Overview

This is a dynamic and impactful position that requires working with families to prevent them from entering out-of-home care. As a Family Preservation Specialist, you will be responsible for linking families into community resources and providing them with a framework to maintain connections.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Manager on intake and induction of new families in the system
  • Follow established risk assessment procedures when visiting and meeting families for the first time
  • Have regular case planning meetings with families and young individuals
  • Review and assess progress of case plan goals regularly with the Manager

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 2 years' experience working with children and young individuals in a similar environment
  • Extensive experience in Microsoft Office Applications
  • A tertiary qualification in a related field (preferably Social Work)

The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, be able to work independently and as part of a team, and demonstrate a commitment to supporting vulnerable families and young individuals.
