Overview:
The Family Support Specialist plays a crucial role in enhancing child safety, strengthening parenting capacity, and supporting placement stability, restoration, and family preservation.
This position involves providing therapy, care coordination, and advocacy to families experiencing child protection concerns. The specialist works closely with a multidisciplinary team to promote child well-being and family resilience.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver evidence-based therapy and support services to vulnerable families.
- Engage with Aboriginal families and communities respectfully, adhering to Closing the Gap commitments.
- Collaborate with a skilled team to strengthen family relationships and promote child safety.
- Provide case management and advocacy to ensure families receive necessary resources and support.

- Strong therapeutic skills and experience working with trauma-affected families.
- A team player with a passion for promoting family well-being and community engagement.
- Knowledge of child protection, domestic and family violence, and trauma, with a commitment to ongoing professional development.
- Adherence to Closing the Gap principles and a willingness to work with Aboriginal families and communities.
